Army chief reviews security, combat readiness in Kashmir
India, July 9 -- Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Dhiraj Seth has reviewed the security situation, operational preparedness and combat readiness in Kashmir during his maiden visit to Jammu and Kashmir after assuming office.
Accompanied by GOC-in-C Northern Command Lt Gen Pratik Sharma and GOC Chinar Corps Lt Gen Balbir Singh, General Seth visited the Headquarters of Chinar Corps (15 Corps) and its formations. He was briefed on operational deployments along the Line of Control (LoC), counter-terrorism operations, inter-agency coordination, evolving security dynamics and security arrangements for the ongoing Amarnath Yatra.
