Amit Shah announces panel to examine demographic shifts
India, May 27 -- The Union Government has constituted a high-level committee to examine and address "unnatural demographic changes" in the country, particularly those caused by illegal immigration and infiltration.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has been pushing strongly on this issue, stating that the government is determined to prevent any artificial changes in India's demographic profile and will deport every infiltrator.
The committee, chaired by retired Supreme Court Justice Prakash Prabhakar Naolekar, will study nationwide population shifts resulting from illegal migration and other unnatural causes.
