Hanoi, April 28 -- Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang made the above statement while addressing the 11th Review Conference of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) in New York, the U.S., on April 27.
Le reassured Viet Nam's support for the NPT, considering it as an important foundation in international security structure.
Countries possessing nuclear weapons must bear a special responsibility to fulfill their disarmament commitments, refrain from threatening the use of force, and promote confidence-building measures as well as greater dialogue on strategic issues, said the Deputy Foreign Minister.
