Hanoi, Sept. 3 -- At the meeting, Vo conveyed greetings from General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) Central Committee and President To Lam and other senior Vietnamese leaders to the UN chief.
She affirmed that Viet Nam highly values the UN's important contributions to global peace and stability, as well as those of the Secretary-General personally.
Viet Nam supports the UN's central role in maintaining international peace and security and promoting sustainable development on the basis of the UN Charter and international law, she said, adding that Viet Nam strongly backs efforts to reform the UN system to make it more streamlined, effective and responsive.
