Jakarta, July 23 -- Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, today met with the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, Sultan bin Saad bin Sultan Al-Muraikhi, on the sidelines of the 59th ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting and Related Meetings, in Manila, Philippines.

Both sides exchanged views on ways to further advance ASEAN-Qatar cooperation, following the conferment of ASEAN Sectoral Dialogue Partner status on Qatar at the 59th ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting on 21 July 2026, and discussed regional and international issues of mutual interest and concern.
