Jakarta, June 1 -- Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, this evening delivered remarks at the Gala Dinner, in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, celebrating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Cambodian Institute for Cooperation and Peace (CICP), a member of ASEAN Institutes of Strategic and International Studies (ASEAN-ISIS). Dr. Kao reflected on the institute's humble beginnings during Cambodia's reconstruction period in the 1990s and highlighted CICP's contributions in supporting Cambodia, including Cambodia's membership in ASEAN in 1999. Dr. Kao also highlighted CICP's evolution into being one of the respected regional platforms for strategic dialogue, as well as for regional and international cooperation.
