Jakarta, July 9 -- Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, today delivered keynote remarks at the Joint Symposium on Deepening Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP)- ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific (AOIP) Synergies on the Occasion of the 10th Anniversary of the FOIP. In his keynote remarks, Dr. Kao reaffirmed ASEAN's commitment to an Indo-Pacific region of inclusive cooperation as articulated in the AOIP and highlighted the convergence between the AOIP and Japan's FOIP. In this regard, Dr. Kao underscored the importance of translating the shared principles between AOIP and FOIP into practical cooperation, while also encouraging other ASEAN's external partners to continue supporting the implementation of the AOIP.
