Jakarta, May 19 -- Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, on 19 May 2026, attended the Working Dinner hosted by H.E. Bendito dos Santos Freitas, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, during his working visit to Dili. The dinner provided an occasion for exchanges of views on Timor-Leste's ongoing integration into the ASEAN as well as the latest developments in ASEAN. SG Dr. Kao reaffirmed the close cooperation between the ASEAN Secretariat and Timor-Leste at this historic stage of the country's full membership in ASEAN. The dinner was also attended by Ambassadors of ASEAN Member States based in Dili.
