Hanoi, June 22 -- General Phan congratulated Hung Cao upon his appointment as U.S. Acting Secretary of the Navy, expressing his belief that he would support and continue to further promote the relations between Viet Nam and the U.S. and the two defense ministries.

He said that both sides have maintained effective and practical defense cooperation, with a focus on such areas as delegation exchange, training, peace-keeping operations, cybersecurity, maritime security, military medicine, humanitarian assistance among others.
