Interface Meeting of the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR) and the Mission of Japan to ASEAN was held on 20 May 2026 at the ASEAN Headquarters/ASEAN Secretariat.

The Meeting was chaired by the Acting AICHR Chair and Alternate Representative of the Philippines to AICHR, Bolivar L. Bao, with the Mission of Japan to ASEAN led by Ambassador Yonetani Koji. The Meeting was attended by the Representatives and Alternate Representatives of AICHR, officials from the Mission of Japan to ASEAN, and the ASEAN Secretariat.

Representatives of AICHR and the Mission of Japan shared updates on human rights developments, ongoing cooperation, and initiatives since the last meeting.
