India, April 9 -- Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Wednesday held a series of high-level virtual engagements with key global counterparts to deepen bilateral trade relations and expand economic cooperation.

Goyal held a constructive discussion with Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi of the United Arab Emirates, focusing on enhancing trade ties and exploring new avenues for strategic collaboration. Both sides expressed intent to further strengthen the India-UAE economic partnership.

In a separate interaction with Francisco Perez Mackenna of Chile, the minister reviewed progress on the proposed Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and discussed pathways to accelerate negotiations toward a mutually beneficial deal.
