India, April 3 -- NMDC Limited, India's largest iron ore producer, has recorded a historic production of 53.15 million tonnes (MT) in FY26, becoming the first mining company in the country to cross the 50 MT annual output mark.

The state-owned miner reported a 21% year-on-year growth in production, while sales rose 13% to 50.23 MT, marking its highest-ever volumes.

In March alone, the company produced 5.35 MT and sold 5.90 MT, registering sharp growth of 51% and 40%, respectively, over the previous year.

The strong performance was driven by key mining assets, including Kirandul and Bacheli in Chhattisgarh and Donimalai in Karnataka, all of which delivered record output during the fiscal.
