India, March 1 -- Gujarat has been allocated 17,366 crore for railway development in the current Union Budget, marking a significant increase over previous years, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said on Sunday.
Speaking after inaugurating the Gujarat Semiconnect Conference-2026 at Mahatma Mandir, Vaishnaw said railway infrastructure in the state is witnessing accelerated expansion under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.
He noted that Gujarat received an average annual allocation of 589 crore during 2009-2014, compared with the record allocation this year.
