India, April 1 -- Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) reported significant progress in FY 2025-26, driven by network expansion, operational efficiency, and infrastructure upgrades aimed at strengthening connectivity across the Northeast.

As part of its expansion strategy, NFR introduced 20 pairs of new train services, spanning premium, semi-premium, and conventional categories, enhancing regional and national connectivity.

Operational efficiency improved with speed enhancements across 35 trains, resulting in cumulative travel time savings of 675 minutes. The zone also achieved 100% electrification, aligning with Indian Railways's sustainability goals and improving overall capacity utilisation.
