US Open: Ogunsakin fights back to secure first Grand Slam main-draw victory
Nigeria, Sept. 7 -- Nigeria's teenage tennis prospect Oluwaseun Ogunsakin has secured his first Grand Slam main-draw victory after defeating 15th seed Kuan-Shou Chen of Chinese Taipei in a thrilling three-set contest at the US Open Junior Tennis Championships.
The 17-year-old Aurum Tennis Academy player fought back from losing the opening set to beat the world No. 16 junior 5-7, 6-3, 7-5 and advance to the second round.
The victory marks the first time Ogunsakin has won a match in the main draw of a Grand Slam junior tournament.
His breakthrough comes after an impressive qualifying campaign in New York, where he defeated Poland's Tymon Litwic 6-3, 6-0 before producing a major upset against top seed Felix Roussel of Canada, winning 6-3,...
