Nigeria, Aug. 16 -- Arsenal began the 2026/27 season in style with a 3-0 win over Manchester City to lift the Community Shield at Cardiff's Principality Stadium on Sunday.

The Gunners took the lead just 24 seconds into the game through Riccardo Calafiori before Kai Havertz doubled the advantage in the 28th minute.

Martin Odegaard then added a third two minutes after the restart to seal Arsenal's 18th Community Shield title.

Arsenal made a fast start and were rewarded almost immediately. Ben White found Myles Lewis-Skelly, who created space before sending a pass into the path of Calafiori. The Italian defender calmly finished past new City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.
