PNP eyes active shooter drills, tighter school security protocols
Manila, June 23 -- The Philippine National Police (PNP) is pushing for active shooter simulation exercises in schools and a review of existing campus security protocols following the deadly shooting incident at the San Jose National High School in Tacloban City.
At a Palace press briefing on Tuesday, PNP spokesperson Col. Allen Rae Co said authorities are studying measures to strengthen school security, including tighter access controls, stronger coordination among schools, local governments, and law enforcement agencies, and emergency response training for students and teachers.
