PH, Vietnam push beyond $10-B trade target, boost agri ties
MANILA, June 1 -- The Philippines and Vietnam on Monday expressed readiness to expand bilateral trade beyond their USD10-billion target while strengthening cooperation in agriculture, manufacturing, and emerging industries.
President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and visiting Vietnamese President To Lam held bilateral talks in Malacanang as the two countries elevate their relations to an "enhanced strategic cooperation," signaling a deeper commitment to improve cooperation in key areas such as defense, trade, and people-to-people exchanges.
Marcos said both sides are committed to a more balanced and investment-friendly economic relationship, particularly in green technology, manufacturing, and the digital economy.
