Manila, Sept. 23 -- President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Wednesday extended his condolences to United Arab Emirates (UAE) Vice President and Prime Minister and Dubai Ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum over the death of his brother, Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

In a statement posted on social media, Marcos said the Filipino people, the Philippine government and his family join the people of Dubai and the Al Maktoum family in mourning.

"I extend my deepest and sincerest sympathies to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on the passing of his beloved brother His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum," Marcos said.
