Palace vows stronger climate change policies, agency coordination
Manila, Sept. 1 -- Malacanang on Tuesday said the government will strengthen the implementation of climate change policies and improve coordination among agencies following concerns that some government offices failed to heed recommendations from the Climate Change Commission (CCC).
Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has directed agencies to give greater attention to climate change, which she said is no longer a distant environmental issue but an immediate reality.
"Hindi na po mangyayari iyan dahil pagtutuunan po ng pansin ang isyu patungkol sa climate change (That will no longer happen because the issue of climate change will be given attention)," Castro said in a Palace briefing.
