Manila, Sept. 24 -- President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. paid his final respects to the late Quirino Governor Dakila Carlo "Dax" Cua, remembering him as a valued colleague, friend and public servant who devoted 25 years to serving the province.

Marcos visited Cua's wake Wednesday, leading the Executive and Cabinet contingent.

"I came to say goodbye to Dax as President, leading the Executive and Cabinet contingent. As a colleague whose work I valued and relied on. And above all, as a friend," Marcos said in a social media post Thursday morning.

Marcos extended his condolences to Cua's wife, Midy, his parents Junie and Angela, and his three children.
