Marcos honors Navy men hurt in Ayungin incident
Manila, July 23 -- President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Thursday personally visited two Philippine Navy servicemen recovering in a military hospital in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, honoring them for their bravery after they were injured in a confrontation with the China Coast Guard (CCG) near Ayungin Shoal in the West Philippine Sea.
Marcos visited the two at Camp Ricarte Station Hospital, where he conferred the Order of Lapu-Lapu and handed each of them PHP100,000 in financial assistance in recognition of their courage and sacrifice in the line of duty.
