Manila, June 9 -- President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has ordered government agencies to sustain relief and recovery efforts in Mindanao following the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck off Sarangani, while ensuring the safety of patients in damaged hospitals.

During a situation briefing in Malacanang on Tuesday, Marcos directed the Department of Health (DOH) and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to immediately assess hospitals affected by the quake and identify safe locations for patients.

Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the President also instructed the Department of Energy (DOE) to prioritize the restoration and stability of power supply in medical facilities.
