Marcos, Amazon Web Services execs tackle possible $5-B investment
Manila, July 8 -- President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. met with executives of Amazon Web Services (AWS) Inc. on Wednesday to discuss the company's proposed investment in the Philippines, including plans to establish an AWS Region that could bring up to USD5 billion in investments over the next 15 years.
During a courtesy call in Malacanang, Marcos and AWS officials discussed expanding the company's presence in the country as part of the administration's push to accelerate digital transformation and position the Philippines as a regional hub for digital infrastructure.
