Manila, Aug. 5 -- President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has suspended work in government offices and classes at all levels in the National Capital Region (NCR) and six provinces starting 3 p.m. on Wednesday due to the expected continuous heavy rains from Tropical Storm Maymay (international Kujira) and the enhanced southwest monsoon (habagat).

Under Memorandum Circular No. 121 signed by Executive Secretary Ralph Recto by authority of the President, the suspension covers Metro Manila and the provinces of Abra, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Benguet, Pangasinan and Zambales.
