Manila, Sept. 24 -- The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) is proposing a PHP228.92-million allocation for the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Program (EVIDP) in 2027, more than seven times its current-year funding, to expand electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure and testing capacity.

The proposed allocation under the 2027 National Expenditure Program (NEP) is 605.17 percent higher than the PHP32.46 million provided for the program under the 2026 General Appropriations Act (GAA).

The increased funding will support the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Scoping, Implementation and Operationalization in Selected Government Offices (EVision) Project and the establishment of an Electric Vehicle Charging System Testing Facility.
