Guwahati: Sikkim has achieved a major breakthrough in judicial reforms by becoming the first state in India to operate a completely paperless judiciary, marking an important step towards digital courts in the country.
The announcement was made by Chief Justice Justice Surya Kant during the inauguration of the Conclave on Technology and Judicial Education held in Gangtok on Friday.
The two-day event, organised at Chintan Bhawan and Samman Bhawan, is being hosted by the High Court of Sikkim in collaboration with the Supreme Court e-Committee. It has brought together judges, legal professionals, and international participants to discuss how technology is shaping courts and legal education.
