Imphal, July 29 -- Central security forces and the Manipur Police busted a temporary insurgent camp in Imphal East district after arresting four cadres of different underground groups during coordinated operations over the past 36 hours, police said on Wednesday.

Acting on disclosures made by the arrested cadres, security forces intensified operations in the foothills of Seijang Cheirao Ching in Imphal East district and recovered a cache of arms, ammunition, explosives and communication equipment from the hideout.

The recovered items included one .303 rifle with a magazine, three 12-bore single-barrel guns, one .22 rifle, one anti-riot gun, three mortar shells, two No. 36 hand grenades, 43 live rounds of ammunition of various calibres, ...
