Guwahati, Aug. 26 -- The Northeast could move beyond being a beneficiary of space technology and emerge as a creator of space-based solutions, with its geography and strategic location offering opportunities in connectivity, disaster management, Earth observation, manufacturing and national security.

This was the central theme on the first day of the Northeast India Space Workshop 2026, organised in Guwahati by the Space Industry Association of India (SIA-India) in partnership with the North Eastern Space Applications Centre (NESAC).
