Imphal, July 14 -- The Manipur Cabinet has approved the establishment of a State Climate Centre under the CITIIS 2.0 programme to strengthen the state's climate resilience and support sustainable development.

The decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh at the Chief Minister's Secretariat in Babupara on Tuesday.

According to official sources, the proposed State Climate Centre will serve as a dedicated institutional mechanism to promote sustainable development, integrate climate-resilient strategies into infrastructure planning and enhance the state's capacity to address environmental challenges under the CITIIS 2.0 framework.
