Imphal, April 24 -- The Ministry of Culture has approved the upgradation of the Manipur State Museum with the addition of two new galleries - a Royal Gallery and a Traditional Textiles Gallery, in a move aimed at strengthening the state's cultural infrastructure.
Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on Friday chaired a high-level meeting at the Secretariat to review the proposed expansion and modernisation of the museum. In a social media post, he said the long-pending upgradation would be taken forward with measures to bring the institution in line with contemporary standards while preserving the state's cultural heritage.
