Manipur Police re-arrest fugitive militant, apprehend alleged KCP (PWG) recruiter
Imphal, Oct. 7 -- Manipur Police have re-arrested an alleged militant who had escaped from police custody in August, leading to the arrest of another suspected operative allegedly involved in cadre recruitment, officials said.
The first accused, 30-year-old Buyamayum Ayub Khan, a resident of Hiyangthang Tarahei Konjil and son of Md. Abdul Jalil, was apprehended during a targeted operation, according to police.
Khan was initially arrested on August 23, 2026, in the Lilong Tairen Makhong area. Police identified him as an alleged extortionist associated with the proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party (People's War Group), or KCP (PWG).
