Manipur CM visits Kangpokpi amid NH-2 protests, inaugurates health units
Imphal, Aug. 8 -- Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh visited Kangpokpi district headquarters on August 8, 2026, following an invitation from Kuki civil society organisations, amid protests by Naga and Meitei villagers along NH-2.
The visit included the inauguration of healthcare and welfare facilities and interactions with local residents and officials.
En route, the Chief Minister was received by Manipur Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen, a Kuki leader, and local residents in Gamgiphai and Damdei villages. During the visit, the Chief Minister inaugurated a new District Dialysis Unit and a District Blood Storage Facility.
