Imphal, Aug. 22 -- Chaired by Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on August 21, the Manipur Cabinet approved a major policy package.

The decisions include 1,882 new teaching posts, a special recruitment policy for athletes, a 20% quota for ex-Agniveers, digital treasury reforms and urban land-use amendments.

The Cabinet cleared 1,882 positions, including 742 contract posts under Samagra Shiksha and 1,140 contractual pre-primary teacher posts. It also approved a 20% horizontal reservation for state ex-Agniveers in Group C categories across the Forest, Fire Service and Prison/Correctional Services departments.
