Imphal: The Manipur government on Monday announced the seventh state-level Media Fellowship on Climate Change Reporting (2026-27) in Imphal, aimed at strengthening the capacity of journalists and improving public understanding of climate issues.
Speaking at the event, T. Brajakumar Singh, Director of the Directorate of Environment and Climate Change, said 48 media fellows have been supported under the programme since its inception in 2018.
The current edition will select 10 fellows. As part of the initiative, district-level reporting programmes on climate change will also be undertaken, beginning with journalist bodies in Ukhrul and Senapati districts.
