Imphal, July 26 -- Police have arrested a 56-year-old woman and seized Rs 28.78 lakh believed to be proceeds from the illegal drug trade, while also recovering a stolen Mahindra Bolero during separate follow-up operations linked to an ongoing narcotics investigation.

The accused, identified as Zenngaihniang (56) of New Lamka in Churachandpur district, was arrested on July 24 during an anti-drug operation launched based on specific intelligence inputs. The operation forms part of an investigation under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act being conducted by Churachandpur Police.
