Imphal, Aug. 23 -- Tension gripped Khurai Lamlong Keithel in Manipur's Imphal East district on August 22 after unidentified miscreants opened fire at a local eatery in the early hours of the morning. The incident occurred at around 2:10 am under the jurisdiction of Porompat Police Station.

According to police sources, four to five rounds were fired at the hotel, which is owned by Koijam Joymati of Khurai Lamlong. The eatery is locally known for selling Khechri.

No injuries or deaths were reported in the incident as the hotel was closed at the time of the shooting.

However, the gunfire damaged the property. Stray bullets pierced the structure, broke utensils and damaged plastic chairs inside the premises.
