Imphal, Sept. 26 -- Two Naga civilians were reportedly killed and two others injured after suspected Kuki militants opened fire at Kalenjang village in Manipur's Senapati district near the Nagaland border on Saturday afternoon.

According to reports, the incident took place at around 2:30 pm, shortly after Manipur Chief Minister Y. Khemchand Singh left a function at the nearby Maram College.

The deceased were identified as Rocky Mao of Chowainamei village and Kumar Poumai of Laii Shirafii. Both reportedly died at the spot.

The two injured victims were identified as 49-year-old Ashiho Sani of Shajouba and 33-year-old Adani Manio of Makhel. Both are from the Mao Naga community.
