Imphal, Aug. 7 -- Two people were killed and three others seriously injured in a road accident on Tiddim Road at Utlou Koubiliya Makhong near Imphal Airport. Police later arrested the truck driver, who had fled the scene, after tracing his movements using CCTV footage.

According to police, the accident involved a commercial truck bearing registration number NL07AA-5416, which was allegedly being driven at high speed and in a reckless manner. Preliminary investigations indicate that rash driving led to the fatal collision on the busy stretch of road.
