Imphal, April 7 -- Fresh violence was reported in Manipur on Tuesday after two children were killed and their mother injured in a suspected projectile attack in Tronglaobi village of Bishnupur district, officials said.
According to sources, the attack took place in Moirang Tronglaobi in the early hours, when a projectile, suspected to be a rocket launched by suspected Kuki militants, hit a civilian residence.
The blast killed a five-year-old boy and his five-month-old sister, while their mother sustained serious injuries, sources said.
The explosion also caused extensive damage to the house and triggered panic in the village, with residents rushing to the spot after the blast.
