Manipur: Tokpa Naga Bodies demand action after nine houses, Church torched
Imphal, Aug. 12 -- The Tokpa Naga Village Authority (TNVA) and the Liangmai Naga Council (LNC) have demanded immediate action following a late-night armed attack in Tokpa Naga village in Manipur's Kangpokpi district on August 11.
According to the two organisations, the attack took place around 9:30 pm in the village under Champai block, when armed men wearing camouflage uniforms allegedly entered the settlement, opened indiscriminate fire and set fire to residential houses and a local church.
Nine houses and the church were completely gutted in the arson, forcing several families to leave their homes. No injuries were reported in the incident.
