Imphal, Sept. 25 -- The Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) has called a 24-hour emergency total shutdown in response to the killing of four Tangkhul Naga civilians at Pilong village in Manipur's Kamjong district near the international border with Myanmar.

The shutdown began at 7am on Friday, September 25, and is scheduled to end at 7am on Saturday, September 26, according to an official TNL statement. The apex Tangkhul Naga body has called for strict compliance with the shutdown across its jurisdiction.

The TNL identified the four victims as Phami Jajo and Vareishim of Kangpat Khullen, Ningthem Kashak of Zingsui, and Betterson Jajo of Kangpat Khunou.
