Manipur: Three insurgents arrested, arms cache recovered in 36-hour valley crackdown
Imphal, June 28 -- In a major crackdown, security forces arrested three active insurgents from different groups and recovered a massive cache of arms and ammunition across Manipur's valley districts within a span of 36 hours, officials reported on Sunday.
In the first operation, security forces apprehended an active extortionist cadre of the banned Revolutionary People's Front, the political wing of the proscribed People's Liberation Army (RPF/PLA).
The suspect, identified as Angom Premjit Singh (28), alias Frewish alias Manaothoi, was arrested from his residence at Phayeng Ching Khunou, under Lamsang Police Station in Imphal West district.
