Imphal, Aug. 20 -- Security forces in Manipur carried out a series of operations across Imphal East, Imphal West and Bishnupur districts, arresting three individuals allegedly involved in drug smuggling, militant activities and extortion, and recovering suspected narcotics and a vehicle.

According to Manipur Police reports on Thursday, the arrests and seizure took place over the past three days.

Acting on intelligence inputs, a joint team of central and state security personnel, along with Imphal East commandos, intercepted a suspected narcotics smuggling operation.

The arrested individual was identified as Md. Eliyas Khan, 28, a resident of Hatta Central Masjid Road in Imphal East.
