Imphal, Sept. 16 -- Security forces arrested five suspected insurgent cadres in separate operations across Manipur on Tuesday, according to officials.

A joint team of the Imphal East and Imphal West Commando units and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) arrested two brothers from Kongpal Kongkham Leikai in Imphal East.

The two were identified as Sheleibam Tomtin Meitei, alias Tomba, 27, and Sheleibam Jagatshyam Meitei, alias Ibungo, 35. The operation was based on intelligence from the CRPF Manipur and Nagaland Sector, which was corroborated by local commando units.
