Imphal, Sept. 17 -- More than half of the people displaced by the ethnic conflict in Manipur have returned to their homes, with the state government implementing rehabilitation measures backed by a Rs 1,347.78 crore package approved by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), according to a report of the State Home Department.

Of the total amount sanctioned since the violence began in May 2023, Rs 949.63 crore has been released and utilised for rehabilitation-related measures.

The year-wise allocation includes Rs 400.24 crore for 2023-24, Rs 424.36 crore for 2024-25 and Rs 523 crore for 2025-26. While no funds have been formally released for the 2026-27 financial year, the state has already spent Rs 99.214 crore on ongoing rehabilitation act...
