Imphal, Sept. 30 -- The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested three more suspects in connection with two separate insurgency-related cases in Manipur, including an April 2024 IED blast that killed two children and an armed ambush targeting the convoy of former Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh.

In the first case, the agency arrested 48-year-old Thangmang Haokip on September 25 over his alleged involvement in the April 7, 2024 IED attack at Tronglaobi in Bishnupur district.

The blast, which was reportedly triggered from a nearby hillside, killed two children and injured another member of the same family. Haokip's arrest comes after the NIA detained another accused, S Palal Thadou Kuki, in August.
