Manipur: NCST seeks action taken report from govt on abduction, killing of Naga civilians
Imphal, Sept. 4 -- The National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST) has given the Manipur government 15 days to submit an Action Taken Report (ATR) on the alleged abduction and killing of six Naga civilians in May, warning that failure to comply could prompt the commission to exercise its civil court powers under Article 338A(8) of the Constitution.
In a reminder issued on September 2, the NCST said failure to submit the report within the stipulated period could result in summons being issued for the personal appearance or representation of the Manipur Chief Secretary and Director General of Police (DGP).
