Imphal, April 23 -- Naga women protesters set a two-wheeler on fire after its occupants were found in possession of contraband items and Rs 30,000 in cash on the final day of a three-day shutdown (bandh) called by the United Naga Council (UNC) and the All Naga Students' Association, Manipur (ANSAM) on Thursday.
According to reports, the incident occurred near the Kanglatongbi bridge between Kangpokpi and Imphal West districts on NH-102 around 2.30 pm. A large number of Naga women supporting the bandh blocked the road and stopped two individuals on a motorcycle.
After a thorough search, the individuals were found in possession of a plastic packet containing contraband ganja, Rs 30,000 in cash, and a mobile phone.
