Imphal, Oct. 27 -- The Meitei Alliance has urged the Manipur government to conduct security operations at all 14 designated Suspension of Operations (SoO) camps housing cadres of the Kuki National Organisation (KNO) and United People's Front (UPF).

The demand follows a joint raid at the Sinai SoO camp in Kangpokpi district on October 23, 2026. Manipur Police, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and CoBRA commandos took part in the operation.

According to details cited in the alliance's statement, security personnel arrested 17 people suspected of posing as registered cadres. The operation also revealed that 158 of the camp's 159 registered cadres were missing. Only one authorised cadre was reportedly present.
